Greenfield High School Is Creating New Bench Design

Greenfield Rejuvenators Donna Mollard, Jean Wall, Ed Terault, and Caitlin von Schmidt paid a visit to Greenfield High School shop teacher Mark Leonard on April 11 to see the beautiful new bench prototypes they’ve created. The new designs incorporate the tree grates that were removed last fall from downtown trees; the grates rest on a decorative stainless steel base. What a great way to recycle and repurpose the tree grates they’ve come up with! The Rejuvenators are thrilled with this new collaboration and grateful (pun intended) to Mark and his students for their great work and enthusiasm. Mark is also working with Sheriff Donelan to arrange for bench production at the Franklin County Jail and House of Correction during the summer months when school isn’t in session. Bench prices and availability will be announced as soon as all the details are worked out. We can’t wait to see these amazing benches popping up all over downtown!
